Founder ir. Edward Vlasveld has been fascinated in life from childhood on, in living and surviving in the wild, far from any form of civilization. This passion resulted early on in undertaking survival trips, and later, on a more extensive expedition basis.
However, the disappointments in obtaining decent survival and outdoor equipment soon became obvious after his first survival expedition, which took him to Washington State and Alaska in 1983. During this maiden voyage, of more than 90 expeditions so far, he already understood that good stuff is NOT for sale immediately !
Good material must be specifically ordered or custom-made ! “When it comes down to a survival situation, you have to be able to rely a 1000% on your equipment”… says Edward. This means that equipment must be so professional that it must be able to last a lifetime, and with some products, even under extreme harsh conditions!
After more than 3 decades of being confronted with the choice between; to order expensive custom-made products, or… purchase commercial junk that is for sale in every outdoor shop,… He finally took the step, at the end of 2018, to set up a web store with a 3-part concept;
However,… to gather a complete range of essential survival and outdoor products of such quality, worldwide, through hundreds of different suppliers, requires an immeasurable quantity of; time, money, energy, patience, knowledge and experience. Nevertheless, Edward has been able to actively put “SurvivalJack” on the internet as a brand and concept store since the end of 2020.
With a few exceptions, his unique range of custom-made outdoor products are not available in any other outdoor store in the world ! The price/quality ratio of its products is unprecedentedly effective and beneficial for the consumer. The latter not only in terms of price, but the even more important “Lifetime-Quality”
