SUPERIOR INFLATABLE KAYAKS AND CANOES

The word canoe or kayak always makes you think of expensive and bulky things that are difficult to carry. Beyond that, they have a reputation for being unstable and floppy, heavy in weight, and easily punctured at the slightest collision. Well … that image is now a thing of the past.

Until recently, this image was still correct,… However, SurvivalJack founder ir. Edward Vlasveld has not been idle in the meantime. By analyzing the known problems with an inflatable kayak or an inflatable canoe in a design manner, an internal drop-stich method of filling has been developed in collaboration with the American company Sea Eagle, whereby inflatable products such as inflatable canoes or inflatable kayaks have been developed. to get an unprecedented strength and stability. So much so that the stability problem is completely solved. In extreme cases where people over 150 kg take place in an inflatable kayak or inflatable canoe, this can still yield a very mild point of strength, however strongly depending on the pressure to which the product has been inflated.

UNIQUE INFLATABLE KAYAK CONSTRUCTION

The drop-stich construction method has been a true revolution in the world of inflatable canoes and inflatable kayaks, and is in fact only a simple but effective concept at its core.  The bottom of the inflatable kayaks and also the side walls of the inflatable canoes all internally consist of small chambers that together form a large chain of solidity, because one room offers solidity to the next room, and vice versa.  Actually a very simple concept, but you just have to think about it. E = MC2 is also super simple… however, it took Albert Einstein to come up with it! In short, everything is simple as soon as you know it!

THE WEIGHT AND FLEXIBILITY

This is perhaps just as important an item for kayaks and canoes as its strength. The weight of a traditional canoe is often much heavier, so the inflatable version also has a big advantage here. The flexibility is perhaps even more important because if the canoe or kayak were to sail against something sharp or against an abrasive surface in nature, then the hard traditional canoes or kayaks often immediately leak or damage themselves.  However, with the inflatable kayak and inflatable canoe, this flexibility is a great advantage because a hard surface does not yield and therefore always has to withstand a greater impact, in contrast to a flexible surface. Beyond that, survivalJack’s inflatable kayaks and canoes are made from the toughest materials available worldwide, to be able to guarantee wear and tear resistance at the highest possible level.

THE PRACTICAL SIDE

The practical side of the fact that a kayak or canoe is inflatable, of course, remains that you can make the product very compact, which is a very important advantage for a survival situation, but it is also very handy for the average user. A traditional canoe or kayak must then be clumsily tied to the roof of a car or have a special trailer made for it… neither really simple or easy, nor very cost-effective !   However, in survival situations, it is very easy to fish with all kinds of fishing gear or fishing tackle or by simply tying a knife to a long stick and fishing, or climbing in places that are only accessible over water.

Or even go fishing at night with a flashlight Where you can even spend the night by putting a sleeping bag in the canoe or kayak, with a mattress underneath if necessary. Even hunting from a boat has 2 major advantages; … Over water you can approach animals as quiet as a mouse, and many animals come to drink during the night at the banks of lakes and rivers. The catch can then immediately be cooked fresh in the tent and possibly consumed from your hammock. Any survival book can be carried in the kayak or canoe fore and kept in a waterproof bag in order to learn how to even hunt with a bow from a kayak along the way
