HIGH QUALITY SLEEPING BAGS

They all look more or less the same, don’t they? … The quality is very difficult to estimate, especially from a few meters away. The reality is that you simply have to try and experience a sleeping bag to be able to say something realistic about it. Natural materials often score higher on the comfort ladder, but the conditions under which the product is used is the decisive factor.

First, let’s even list the different types of sleeping bags in terms of material so that we are not comparing apples with pears.

Our findings after 36 years of experience with sleeping bags spread out over 90+ expeditions with all kinds of different sleeping bag products is the following; There are no sleeping bags that can be called “perfect” because this is simply not realistic! Every sleeping bag experience depends very much on the climate and weather conditions in which these experiences were gained!  You cannot expect to have a pleasant sleeping experience in a soaking wet environment with a fully cotton sleeping bag. Even as you will not experience a good night’s sleep in an Arctic sleeping bag, suitable for the North Pole during a scorching humid night in a tropical rainforest !  However, these different sleeping bags realistically compared with each other, represent our chosen collection of 5 sleeping bags, which are to our findings, worldwide the cream of the crop.  Our model (NR1) is however taken out of production.

THE HIGH-TECH POLYESTER FIBER SLEEPING BAG

This concerns the sleeping bag series (NR  3) The ultimate solution if you are interested in a more durable sleeping bag that is almost as well ventilated and comfortable as the 100% hemp version (NR 4), however, it has somewhat stronger material on the outside in the form of Polyester. Again, the lining is made of cotton/fleece and the filling consists of hollow flannel fibers, which is very close to the comfort of 100% cotton.  This custom-made sleepingbag is BY FAR the most durable, sophisicated and best performing sleepingbag in the world ! It is made for very diffycult and tough circumstances. It has a summer and a winter compartment.  +40 degrees in the Tropics or -40 in Arctic regions…Not a problem for our Fully Waterproof Top model !

 

LINEN OR HEMP FIBER CANVAS SLEEPING BAG

This is the last sleeping bag series (NR 4) This series is almost the same product as Sleeping bag series (NR 3), however, with the difference that the outside is not Polyester but Canvas. This is a mix of Linen and Hemp fiber. Hemp is generally known for being a very tough and abrasion resistant fiber, of which Linen absorbs more moisture for its breathability. However, this sleeping bag is also made in a very professional way with very high quality material.    The advantages of a quality good night’s sleep, based on the fact that it has been obtained from a good tent on an equally qualitative mattress. If you choose the right sleeping conditions for the right sleeping bag, you do not necessarily have to store the sleeping product in a waterproof bag or a water-repellent hammock to keep it dry.

Furthermore, one is better equipped and has more energy to do all kinds of heavily tiring things such as chopping with an axe or sawing with a saw in crackling hard wood, or sailing against the wind with a kayak, or shooting with a bow of which the draw weight is already starting to get too heavy after firing 3 or 4 arrows.  The only thing you can do, exhausted in survival conditions, is to drop yourself exhausted into a wonderfully comfortable chair by a cozy fire where you find yourself dreaming away in the flames of the fire at the thought that your quality night’s rest is largely the pillar when we experience the day.
